eduroam end-users: contact your help desk at your home institution

eduroam technical support staff: report trouble incidents to the BCNET Network Operations Centre (NOC):

NOC is available 24/7

 


To connect your institution to eduroam, you need to:

  • configure your 802.11 wireless infrastructure to enable the "eduroam" SSID with WPA2/AES encryption and 802.1X authentication (typically using PEAP or EAP-TTLS),
  • integrate with your identity management infrastructure,
  • create a public support web page, and
  • RADIUS proxy your .ca domain between your institution and the eduroam operator.

Checklist of Operator's tasks for a new connection    

Participation in the Canadian Access Federation provides members with access to eduroam and Shibboleth services.

  1. Set up connection progress reporting
  2. Confirm institution has joined CAF
  3. E-mail proxy configuration details to institution
  4. Add institution to mailing lists
  5. Add configuration to Operator's RADIUS servers
  6. Ask institution to confirm that home and roaming logins work at institution
  7. Ask institution to confirm roaming logins work for new domain
  8. Add institution to map and list of participating institutions
  9. Publicize new connection locally
