Learn more about CANARIE
CANARIE is Canada's only advanced, ultra-high speed national research and education network, created by the federal government in 1993 specifically to support research in Canada.
CANARIE arms Canadian researchers and scientists with the best digital tools to enable cutting-edge research and innovation. CANARIE provides world-class digital infrastructure, enables advanced digital skills development, and supports the development of innovative digital content, activities that are fundamental to the Government’s Science and Technology Strategy and Digital Economy Strategy.
CANARIE leverages the $3.5B spent each year in Government research funding distributed through the Granting Councils and the National Research Council, and the $1B spent each year on research in Government laboratories, by enabling access to national and international research data, tools and expertise.
With CANARIE’s advanced digital infrastructure, anything is possible! Without it? Canadian research and innovation are at risk.
