class=\"cell\">\n                  \t<h3>Vers une meilleure \u00e9ducation par l\u2019automatisation<\/h3>\n                    <p><strong>Centre de recherche informatique de Montr\u00e9al (CRIM)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9ducation a consid\u00e9rablement \u00e9volu\u00e9 au Canada. L\u2019\u00e9poque o\u00f9 l\u2019on donnait des le\u00e7ons devant un tableau noir est r\u00e9volue. La technologie a chang\u00e9 le visage de l\u2019enseignement avec l\u2019arriv\u00e9e des bandes vid\u00e9o, des didacticiels et des jeux p\u00e9dagogiques, et en multipliant les fa\u00e7ons de former la future g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de m\u00e9decins, d\u2019ing\u00e9nieurs, d\u2019enseignants et d\u2019historiens. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 elle, il est possible de rejoindre beaucoup plus de gens, peu importe l\u2019endroit o\u00f9 ils se trouvent, tout en r\u00e9duisant le co\u00fbt global de l\u2019enseignement.<\/p>\n<p>De toute \u00e9vidence, l\u2019enseignement assist\u00e9 par ordinateur pr\u00e9sente maints avantages. Cependant, en l\u2019absence d\u2019un humain pour s\u2019assurer que les \u00e9tudiants saisissent bien le sens du contenu pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 dans la bande vid\u00e9o ou le didacticiel en ligne, comment savoir si l\u2019instruction a port\u00e9 fruit?<\/p>\n<p>On jauge l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 des aides technologiques \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9ducation en analysant les bandes vid\u00e9o sur lesquelles les \u00e9l\u00e8ves interagissent avec l\u2019ordinateur. Dans la plupart des cas, ce sont des milliers d\u2019heures de film qu\u2019il faut transcrire puis analyser afin de v\u00e9rifier les interactions des \u00e9tudiants, processus laborieux qui exige parfois dix fois plus de temps que le simple visionnement de la bande.<\/p>\n                  <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n  <\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"section section--text-columns no-background\">\n    <div class=\"grid-container\">\n      <div class=\"grid-x grid-padding-x\">\n        <div class=\"cell\">\n                  \t<h3>Analyse automatis\u00e9e des bandes vid\u00e9o<\/h3>\n                    <p>Des chercheurs et des sp\u00e9cialistes du Centre de recherche informatique de Montr\u00e9al (CRIM) se sont associ\u00e9s au groupe de recherche Learning Environments Across Disciplines (LEADS) pour mettre au point une s\u00e9rie d\u2019outils avec lesquels les chercheurs en \u00e9ducation peuvent \u00e9valuer la qualit\u00e9 de l\u2019exp\u00e9rience v\u00e9cue par l\u2019\u00e9tudiant et affiner les techniques p\u00e9dagogiques en fonction des diff\u00e9rents styles d\u2019apprentissage. Ces outils mesurent de fa\u00e7on uniforme l\u2019enseignement assist\u00e9 par ordinateur et en permettent l\u2019am\u00e9lioration. Ensemble, ils constituent la plateforme logicielle VESTA (Vid\u00c9o : Syst\u00e8me de Traitement d\u2019Annotation).<\/p>\n<p>Cette plateforme arrive \u00e0 faire la distinction entre l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e8ve qui lit ce qui d\u00e9file sur l\u2019\u00e9cran ou qui r\u00e9fl\u00e9chit tout haut (ce qu\u2019ils sont encourag\u00e9s \u00e0 faire) et celui qui pr\u00eate attention ou se laisse distraire. Ces indices, et la transcription des interactions de l\u2019\u00e9tudiant de m\u00eame que l\u2019annotation automatique d\u2019incidents notables (transitions, expressions faciales, arriv\u00e9e de nouvelles personnes sur la sc\u00e8ne), engendrent un r\u00e9pertoire de r\u00e9sultats qu\u2019on peut compulser pour les bandes vid\u00e9o sur chaque \u00e9tudiant, ce qui facilite sensiblement la recherche sur les technologies \u00e9ducatives.<\/p>\n                  <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n  <\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"section section--text-columns no-background\">\n    <div class=\"grid-container\">\n      <div class=\"grid-x grid-padding-x\">\n        <div class=\"cell\">\n                  \t<h3>Former de meilleurs m\u00e9decins<\/h3>\n                    <p>Bien que VESTA puisse s\u2019appliquer \u00e0 de nombreux domaines de recherche qui recourent \u00e0 l\u2019analyse des bandes vid\u00e9o, les deux exemples actuels sont tir\u00e9s de la m\u00e9decine. Un premier projet aide les futurs m\u00e9decins \u00e0 \u00e9valuer les malades qui r\u00e9clament les soins les plus urgents, tandis que le second leur apprend \u00e0 mieux annoncer les mauvaises nouvelles. Dans les deux cas, les apprentis m\u00e9decins sont film\u00e9s lorsqu\u2019ils portent un diagnostic ou interagissent avec le patient.
