Call for Speakers
Cybersecurity practitioners, executives with cybersecurity-related responsibilities (e.g., CISOs, CIOs, Directors of Information Security, and similar roles), cybersecurity researchers, and all those contributing to cybersecurity strategies in the research or post-secondary sector are invited to submit proposals for short presentations at the Canadian SecuR&E Forum.
Institutional speakers selected for Community Sessions will receive complimentary registration to the Forum + two nights’ accommodation at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre.
Presentation Details
The length of each presentation is 20 minutes, including a five-minute question and answer period.
Submission Guidelines
All submissions must include:
- Presenter name, title, email address, and organization
- Presenter bio (maximum 150 words)
- Presenter photo
- Presentation abstract (maximum 250 words)
- Presentation stream selection (Plenary Track, Executive Track, Technical Track)
Evaluation Criteria
The following criteria will be used to select presentation proposals:
- Relevance of the topic to the Canadian SecuR&E Forum community
- Clarity of the proposal
- Uniqueness/originality of the topic
- While we welcome participation from vendors, proposed talks should focus on thought leadership, industry best practices, case studies, or lessons learned—not promote specific products or services. Speakers from for-profit organizations are not eligible to receive complimentary registration or funded accommodations.
