CanSSOC Cybersecurity Program

In collaboration with our partners, we connect Canada’s research and education sector to world-class cybersecurity expertise, services, and tools.

Canada’s research and education sector is connected – both physically, through the National Research and Education Network (NREN), and through the collaborative nature of learning and discovery. But every connected device and organization is susceptible to cyber threats.

The Canadian Shared Cybersecurity Centre (CanSSOC)’s team and services have integrated with CANARIE’s cybersecurity program.
Together, we share a vision to secure Canada’s research and education (R&E) sector through a national, federated system, based on a key principle:

When it comes to cybersecurity, we are stronger together.

To secure the whole sector, it’s critical to strengthen the capacity of every institution and coordinate efforts that are underway at every level: from apps and devices to campus networks and NREN infrastructure.

Working with our provincial and territorial NREN partners and other partner organizations, we are using a collaborative national approach to mitigate risks across the landscape.

Together, we are working to coordinate national cybersecurity services that help secure all organizations in the sector, regardless of size or capacity.

Built by the community, for the community, we’re proud to offer the Cybersecurity Initiatives Program (CIP).
