Vice President Cybersecurity Programs and Services

The Vice President, Cybersecurity Programs and Services provides executive leadership for CANARIE’s Cybersecurity Programs and Services department which has responsibility to evolve the strategy, continue to build and guide the team, and direct ongoing investments in system-wide capability to deliver scalable, sustainable national initiatives to secure Canada’s research and education sector.

The Vice President, Cybersecurity Programs and Services is accountable for directing the evolution of CANARIE’s Cybersecurity Program and the implementation of its programs and services.

This is a full-time, permanent position that reports to the President & CEO.

Key Responsibilities

  • providing executive leadership to the continued development and implementation of CANARIE’s Cybersecurity Program strategy and the integration of elements within the strategy
  • advancing the overall cybersecurity capabilities of Canada’s research and education sector by evolving existing cybersecurity services and directing the research and development or acquisition of new services
  • leading the investment in corporate capacity, including building and fostering a team of program, cybersecurity, and business management professionals responsible for defining and delivering the Cybersecurity Programs and Services portfolio
  • developing and maintaining relationships with senior leaders among CANARIE’s partner and stakeholder groups to implement a national approach to growing cybersecurity capacity across the research and education sector
  • managing the development and evolution of a multi-stakeholder service delivery environment

Travel may occasionally be required

You have excellent oral and written communication skills, and can count time management, problem solving, and managing multiple priorities as your strengths. You’re a seasoned senior executive, with a strong strategy orientation and operational mindset, who has previously held progressive business and operational roles in fast paced and complex environments. You have demonstrated success in a variety of businesses in the technology sector, including publicly funded, not-for-profit organizations.

Bilingualism is preferred.

What You Bring

Education and Experience

  • College diploma or university degree in Business or a suitable combination of education, experience, or other relevant training
  • 10-15 years experience effectively leading and motivating teams engaged in new product or service introductions and managing the service lifecycle from requirements definition through market launch and sustaining operations
  • Defining and implementing channel and partnering strategies
  • 10-15 years of expertise in evolving business segments, operations, systems, and processes to support start-up to scale-up service transformation
  • Ability to direct strategic marketing initiatives and translate and communicate complex topics to influence target audiences
  • Proficient understanding of the technology environment as it relates to cybersecurity – key principles, processes, and frameworks
  • Proven track record with strategy planning, development, and operational execution
  • Experience with research and education sector is desirable
